Dr Luna Shamieh.
Luna Shamieh holds a PhD in international security studies from the University of Public Service, Budapest. She is an active researcher, evaluator, trainer and strategic design specialist. Luna has experience of working with governments, international donors, and global organizations to design and implement stronger programmes with a keen focus on security, justice, education and agriculture. As a
Planning and Organizational Development expert, Luna Has more than 17 years of planning experience on a national and institutional level. She has developed national strategic plans in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, including the national plan for children in Iraq and Jordan and child situation reports along the MENA region.
As a Monitoring & Evaluation Expert, Luna has more than 20 years of progressive experience providing monitoring and evaluation support across program cycles, including framework design, training, carrying out baseline midline and endline evaluations, impact assessments and outcome mapping, and MEL systems development.
As a Security Sector Expert, Luna carries more than 10 years of experience in security sector reform (SSR) across the MENA region, with a proven capacity to develop national plans, identify needs, develop initiatives, and evaluate SSR programming with the aim enhancing capacity. Luna has
authored academic publications on human security and SSR as part of her doctoral work.
